Prep Time: 2 hours incl chilling time
A fun way to liven up jellies for children and improve nutritional value with the addition of milk-rich fresh custard.
1 box SPAR strawberry jelly
1 box SPAR pineapple jelly
1 box SPAR cherry jelly
250ml SPAR fresh strawberry custard
250ml SPAR fresh vanilla custard
250ml SPAR fresh chocolate custard
rainbow and chocolate vermicelli
WHAT TO DO:
Pour each jelly powder into a separate bowl. Add 200ml hot water onto each one, and stir to dissolve. Chill until completely cool and just beginning to thicken every so slightly.
Combine as follows:
strawberry custard + strawberry jelly,
vanilla custard + pineapple jelly, and
chocolate custard + cherry jelly.
3. Pour alternating layers of each mixture between tall dessert glasses, sprinkling vermicelli around the edges between some of the layers. Chill and decorate with a fresh strawberry, stalked cherry, colourful sweets or chocolate shavings.
Hints and Tips
If you forget the jelly in the fridge, and it oversets before you stir in the custard, rather leave it out at room temperature to thin down slightly before adding the custard.
