Next row: k16, turn, k10. Cont working on these 10sts for 10 rows.
Next row: pick up 10 sts alongside of the 10 st strip, k rem 6 sts.
Next row: k26 sts, pick up 10 sts along opposite side of the 10st strip, k rem 6 sts.
K 18 rows, then c/off all sts.

Ears (make 2 pink and 2 white)
Using 4mm Ns c/on 8 sts.
Inc 1 st at beg and end of every row until there are 12 sts on needle. K 4 rows.
Dec 1 st at beg and end of next and every row until 8 sts rem, c/off.
FaceUsing 4mm Ns and Just Pink, c/on 8 sts. Inc 1 st at beg and end of every alt row until there are 24sts.
Next row: k8 sts, c/off 8 sts, k8 sts. Cont working on 8 sts inc for cheek on one side only, 1 st every alt row until there are 12sts. K 8 rows.
Next row: on same side, dec 1 st every row until 1 st rem. Fasten off. Join yarn to rem 8 sts and complete 2nd cheek to match first, reversing shaping.
Head backUsing 4mm Ns and Just Pink, c/on 12 sts. Inc at beg and end of every row until there are 32 sts. K 8 rows. Dec 1 st at beg and end of next row and every alt row until 8 sts rem. C/off.
Tail
Using 4mm Ns and Just Pink, c/on 7 sts and k 126 rows. C/off.
To make up
Fold leg and arm pieces in half lengthwise and sew, closing lower end. Stuff arms and legs. Join ears by sewing together one white and one pink piece, but don’t stuff them. Sew the nose into opening on front of face, being careful to fit it evenly. Sew head back to head front along sides. Fit white chest strip into nose opening and attach it as far as neck. Sew rem part of white strip to pink body. Sew closed along base of body. There’s now only one opening at back of neck. Fill head and body. Sew neck opening. Position ears on head and sew. Fold tail in half lengthwise and sew. Cut a nose from black felt and sew it on using blanket stitch. Work muzzle and claws with black yarn. Cut felt background for eyes. Stick plastic eyes to felt with contact adhesive, then stick felt to face. Tie a bow round neck and lower end of tail. |
