Maple Oatmeal Bread




Nothing beats homemade bread, except maybe homemade bread WITH Illovo syrup:)
Ingredients:
• 425ml boiling water
• 250ml rolled oats...
• 80ml margarine
• 125ml Illovo Maple Syrup
• 80ml Illovo Golden Brown Sugar

• 10ml salt
• 1,5kg bread flour
• 2 x 10g instant dry yeast sachets
• 500ml lukewarm water
• 2 large eggs
Method:
1. Combine water, oats, margarine, syrup, sugar and salt and set aside to cool.
2. Combine the flour and yeast in a mixing bowl.
3. Add the lukewarm water and eggs into the oat mixture, and pour into the flour, mixing to a workable dough, (add a little more lukewarm water if necessary).
4. Turn dough mass into a greased bowl, and leave in a warm place to rise to double its size.
5. Punch down dough and knead for a few minutes. Shape into loaves and place into two well-greased, large bread pans.
6. Set aside in warm place to rise again. Meanwhile preheat oven to 180˚C.
7. Bake loaves for 1 hour.
Makes 2 large loaves
