Jam drops




Jam drops
200 grams of butter ...
3/4 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
1 egg
A pinch of salt
1 teaspoon of baking powder

2& 3/4 cups of cake flour
1/2 a cup of jam of your choice
Method
Cream /beat the butter and sugar for about a minute , next add the egg and vanilla and mix further for a minute . Next add all your dry ingredients and mix together with your hand until you get a soft dough . Cover and chill in fridge for 20 minutes before using .
Next take out your dough and shape small round balls . Make a well in the centre with your finger or use the end of a spoon . Place on a lined or lightly greased baking sheet , fill the holes with the jam , about 1/2 a teaspoon .
Bake in a preheated oven at 180degC for 12-15 minutes or when you see the edges of the biscuit turns golden brown , the kiddies simply love these biscuits , great for a lunch time treat or tea time treat with family or friends
