- Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg and beat well until light and creamy. Add essence.
- Sift flour and salt together. Add to creamed mixture, alternately with milk. Mix well until smooth.
- Place guavas with syrup into a greased, large ovenproof dish. Spoon mixture over guavas. Bake in preheated oven at 180 °C for 45 – 50 minutes.
