Guava pudding




Guava pudding

Serves 4 - 6
30 ml butter or margarine
60 ml (50 g) sugar
1 extra-large egg
5 ml vanilla essence
125 ml (70 g) Snowflake self-raising flour
2 ml salt
80 ml milk
820 g can guava halves
  1. Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg and beat well until light and creamy. Add essence.
  2. Sift flour and salt together. Add to creamed mixture, alternately with milk. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Place guavas with syrup into a greased, large ovenproof dish. Spoon mixture over guavas. Bake in preheated oven at 180 °C for 45 – 50 minutes.
Variation
Use any fruit of choice.
