PECAN SLICES





PECAN SLICES

Ingredients

50g butter
200g Huletts SunSweet Brown Sugar
1 egg, beaten
5ml (1 teaspoon) vanilla essence
125g flour

Pinch of salt
3ml (½ teaspoon) baking powder
100g chopped pecan nuts

Method

Melt the butter then add the sugar and stir well. Allow to cool slightly, then add the egg and vanilla essence.

Sift flour, salt and baking powder then add to the butter mixture. Add the chopped nuts and mix well.

Grease a 28cm x 18cm tin and spread in the mixture. Bake at 180ºC for 25 - 30 minutes. Cool slightly and cut into squares.
