Sit met 'n oorvloed van Mango vrugte? Hier is 'n maklike chutney resep:
Mango Chutney
900g Mangoes
450g cooking apples
1 tablespoon salt
450 g onions
56g mixed pickling spice
1,1 L white vinegar
2 teaspoons ground ginger
450g soft brown sugar
Peel & cut mangoes into small pieces. Peel, core and slice apples. Layer in bowl, sprinkle with salt and leave to steep overnight.
Rinse and drain mangoes, apples. Pell and finely chop onions. Put in pickling spice into a muslin bag.
Place mangoes, apples and onions in a pan with the vinegar, ginger and bag of pickling spice.
Bring to boil and then simmer until soft.
Add sugar en stir until dissolved.
Continue simmering until chutney thickens, stirring occasionally.
Pour into sterilized jars. (Easy Jams, Chutneys and preserves)
