375 ml Tastic Parboiled Rice, cooked
250 g Puff pastry, ready-made and thawed
1 egg, beaten
4 red apples, cored and thinly sliced
80 ml butter OR margarine
45 ml honey OR golden syrup
5 ml ground cinnamon
Method:
Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for 20 - 25 minutes or until pastry is baked through and lightly golden in colour.
Melt the butter and mix with the honey/syrup and ground cinnamon. Pour ¾ of mixture over rice and mix well.
Spoon the rice onto the pastry base and spread into an even layer. Arrange the apples on top of the rice.
Brush apple with remaining honey and butter mixture. Grill under a preheated element for 3 - 5 minutes.
Serve whilst hot from the oven.
