Dip for Fruit
Dip for Fruit
1 cup low fat plain Greek Yogurt
2 tbsps low fat Cream Cheese
2 tbsps Brown Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 Small apple, cut in to medium size cubes with the peel intact
½ cup Green grapes
Take a bowl and add the Greek yogurt to it. Top the yogurt with the cream cheese and whisk the ingredients using a fork or a whisk for 5 minutes or until the mixture is well blended and smooth in consistency.
Blend in the brown sugar and vanilla extract until the mixture is well combined. Skew the fruit bites in to the tooth pick, one fruit piece over each tooth pick. Serve the fruit dip with the skewed fruit pieces and enjoy!
Tips: Use a fork or a whisk to whip up the yogurt and cream cheese mixture. If using a hand blender try to rotate the blades in one direction only. You may cut any of your favorite fruit to bite size pieces and skew them over a tooth pick, for ease of handling, and enjoy it. You may store this dip in a refrigerator for up to 5 days in a sealed container. If desired, you may use fine powdered brown or icing sugar to get an even smoother dip. For a bit of crunch, you may switch to granulated sugar variety. Add a few sprigs of freshly chopped mint leaves to add a fresh zing to the dip.
This dip goes well with any type of fruit, tropical, citrus, berries, juicy melons and many other varieties. You may enjoy this dip as a healthy appetizer or an even healthier dessert. Just tweak the sugar content to your taste preference and personalize this recipe to your desire.
