SABC Modderkoekies
Ingredients

 125g dark chocolate
125g butter
2 eggs
1 cup of caster sugar
1 heaped cup of flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

1\2 cup currants
3 tsp cocoa

Method

Melt the chocolate and butter in a pot over very low heat. Stir until smooth. Beat the eggs and sugar in a bowl until pale and thick. Fold in the chocolate mixture. combine the flour, cocoa and baking powder. Sift this into the mixture. Add the nuts and currants and mix well. Line a square 20 cm baking tin with baking paper. Pour in the mixture and bake at 180ºC for 30 minutes. Prick with a skewer to test whether the cake is set. Allow to cool. Cut into squares. Don't worry if they do not but perfectly. They may look like a battered SABE gemors, but they will still taste delicious!
