Dumplings

Dumplings

2 x cups of flour
2 x tsp baking powder
pinch salt
1 TBS cold butter / margarine (a good dollop)
Water

Mix dry ingredients, add butter / margarine and mix with fingers till it resembles breadcrumbs, slowly add water while blending with a butter knife or spatula. The dough will come away from the sides and form a ball when it is the right consistency. Cover and leave to stand for at least 30 minutes before adding to your stew / gravy. Once in stew / gravy let it simmer for about 20 minutes
