Washing Powder

Washing Powder

Het iemand dalk al hul eie waspoeier gemaak. Ek het die resep gekry en lyk dit baie goedkoper as gekoopte waspoeier

Washing Powder is getting so expensive, and its the one thing you cant do without!
I have a recipe for making your own. Its very easy, takes 10 minutes or less, and is just as good, and best of all its CHEAP!!
Ingredients:
1 x cup Sodium Bicarbonate ( I use swimming pool PH up, but you could use ordinary Bicarb)

1 x cup Borax ( found in the washing powder section OR the spice section)
1 x finely grated bar of washing soap (I use sunlight soap, but you can use any of the washing soaps in the laundry section)

All you have to do is grate the soap on the fine side of your grater. (that is the sum-total of the work !!)
add 1 cup of each of the two powders.
Mix well.
Store

You only need to use 1.5 tablespoons per heavy load!!
( I have an 8kg machine and the 1.5 spoons is enough)

The bicarbonate gives you whiter whites, brighter brights, and odor free clothing.
The borax is a whitener, increases the PH of the water, boosts the effectiveness of the detergent.
The only reason I choose Sunlight over the other soaps, is that I like the smell :0)

And the BEST part?Borax R9.99Soap R5.99Bicarbonate R3.50 (initial cost is approx R25 but this will last you approx 6-8 cups and you only need 1 at a time)
Total cost: R19.55 for approx 45 washes!! Thats about 45c per wash!
