You need:
Tamarillos, sugar, water and a lemon.
Method:
- 2.5kg (5lb) tamarillos
- 2 kg (4lb) sugar
- 1 cup water
- Juice 1 lemon
Peel the tamarillos, then chop finely. Place in a large pot with the lemon juice and water. Bring to the boil and simmer until the fruit is soft. Add the sugar, stirring well to dissolve.
Bring the mixture back to the boil, then boil rapidly for 30 minutes. Pour into warm sterilised bottles and seal.
