CHOPS IN THE SLOW COOKER
6 pork chops,browned (you can skip the browning)
1 onion, chopped
3 T. tomato sauce
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 t Worcestershire sauce
Place into slow cooker and simmer about 4-5 hours. Serve with rice, noodles or potatoes.
Beef and red wine Cubed steak
cooked slowly in a rich red wine and mushroom sauce produce a rich aroma that makes the mouth water.
1 kg blade steak, cut into 5 cm / 2 inch cubes
2 tsp / 10 ml beef stock powder
½ cup / 125 ml boiling water
1 x 280 ml tin of cream of mushroom soup
280 ml can of mushroom pieces or freshly chopped.
1 pkt onion soup mix 125 ml – 250 ml cup of red wine.
Method: Place beef cubes into a 6 L slow cooker. Mix together the boiling water and the beef stock powder in a large bowl. Add the soup, mushroom pieces, pkt soup mix and the wine. Stir. Pour over the beef cubes. Cover and Cook on Low for 7-9 hours or on High for 3 ½ hours – 4 ½ hours. Serve with rice, pasta or mashed potato.

Rina Kleinhans - LEKKER GROENTE SOP IN DIE “SLOW COOKER”
Ongeveer 500g lamsvleis/beesvleis (lekker bene vleis)
1 ½ kp droë sopmengsel (Lensies, ertjies of gemeng ens)
2 liter kook water
1 blik geskilde tamaties
1 groot ui fyn gekap
2 aartappels gerasper
4 wortels gerasper
1 ½ kp gekapte seldery
½ kp leeks
1 pk groentesop poeier
Sout, peper en worcestersous na smaak
Ander kruie soos pietersielie ens na smaak
Plaas al die groente en sopmengsel in die slow cooker en sit die vleis bo-op. Maak die soppoeier aan met water en gooi oor die vleis en groente. Sit die slow cooker op “LOW” en laat dit prut deur die nag vir ongeveer 10 ure. Of sit die slow cooker op “AUTO” voor jy werk toe gaan en die sop sal na 8 ure reg wees. Indien jy meer geurmiddels verkies, sit dit by voor opdiening. Hierdie sop kan deur die liquidizer gesit word vir ‘n gladde sop, en indien die sop te dik is kan jy bietjie water bygooi.
Chocolate Fudge Pudding
Chocolate fudge is a favorite recipe for many. The slow cooker produces a great tasting dessert recipe.
1 cup flour
¾ cup brown sugar,
firmly packed 2 tbsp cocoa
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ cup milk
2 tbsp cooking oil
½ tsp vanilla
¾ cup brown sugar,
firmly packed 2 tbsp cocoa
1 ¾ cups hot water
Method: Place first group of ingredients in bowl, stir. Add milk, cooking oil and vanilla. Stir well. Turn into Slow cooker. Stir second amount of brown sugar and second amount of cocoa together well in bowl. Add hot water. Mix. Pour carefully over batter in slow cooker. Do not stir. Cover. Cook on High for about 2 hours until wooden pick inserted in centre comes out clean. Serves 6.

Plaas die melk, rys en suiker in ‘n kastrol en laat kook. Roer. Giet in prutpot, plaas klontjies botter bo-op en bestrooi met bietjie neut. Sit die deksel op en kook vir 5-6ure op LAAG. Roer af en toe
