Health Bread




Health Bread

Ingredients

500 ml whole-wheat flour
200 ml rolled wheat
100 ml cake flour
1 ml salt
8 ml bicarbonate of soda
50 ml brown sugar
250 ml Safari Seedless Raisins
100 ml sunflower seeds, lightly roasted
100 ml Safari Walnuts or Pecan nuts, coarsely chopped
1 egg
1 grated green apple
500 ml Bulgarian yoghurt or buttermilk
30 ml sesame or linseed

Method

Pre-heat oven to 180° C.
Mix all dry ingredients, raisins, seeds and nuts well together.
Beat egg and mix with grated apple and yoghurt. Stir into dry ingredients and mix well.
Pour into greased bread pan and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Bake for 1½ - 2 hours until done.
